Two weeks have passed since we replaced Luke’s cannula and tender grips. If you recall, it didn’t go smoothly. Last night we tried again, but we used a sneak attack with great success.
Luke slept peacefully in his crib, and I took the opportunity to baby-oil a cottonball and remove the tendergrips from his cheeks. When I finished the first, I left the room to allow him to fall into sleep again. I returned two minutes later for the second. Luke fussed a little, but never reached a full cry. I quietly and carefully slipped off the cannula, then replaced it with the new one and exited the room for 5 more minutes. Upon my return, I measured and applied the two tendergrips, with small protest from Luke. It was over before he could work himself into a frenzy.
Thank God for sleepy babies!
